Dec. 3--JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.--A pot of federal money arriving sooner than normal allowed Gov. Bob Holden on Tuesday to release $83 million for schools that he had withheld to balance the budget.
Kansas City area school administrators don't know exactly how much of the money they will get, but whatever the amount, most said they will be glad to get it.
"We are still a large check away from where we were," said Larry Ewing, superintendent in Fort Osage. "But I don't mean to sound ungrateful. Obviously it helps. But it does not restore completely what this school ...
