FLORENCE -- Jeremy Young stood on the sideline, a rightful place for a freshman, and watched senior Clint Buderus quarterback Florence to the Class 3A state football championship only 365 days ago.
This year, Young will be the starting quarterback when the Huskies (11-2) travel to Palisade for the 3A title game at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Stocker Stadium.
It has been a quick but very eventful trip for the 5-foot-10, 155-pound sophomore.
Florence coach Mark Buderus, Clint's father, handed the starting job to Young before the Huskies opened their title defense against Gunnison in the season opener. ...
