SEOUL, Dec. 3 (Yonhap) -- A South Korean musician residing in Germany was named the winner of the 2004 University of Louisville Grawemeyer Award for Music Composition, the Grawemeyer Foundation announced Wednesday.
Chin Un-suk was honored for her "Violin Concerto" for violin and orchestra, a piece commissioned by the Berlin Deutsches Symphony Orchestra (DSO).She will become the first Korean winner of the $200,000 Grawemeyer Award, which is considered the top prize in international music composition.Among the previous winners of the award are such world-renowned composers as Witold Lutoslawski, Gyorgy ...
