Maybe the Notre Dame football team doesn't bring NBC flowers or sing it love songs anymore.
But by no means is their historic marriage over. Despite mediocre football and declining TV ratings, it's likely Notre Dame and NBC will renew their contract before it expires after the 2005 season.
Neil Pilson, the former president of CBS Sports who now runs a sports consulting firm, said even though the Fighting Irish have not finished in the top 10 for a decade, Notre Dame remains "a very attractive and very valuable television property."
How attractive? Counting Notre Dame's game against Syracuse University ...
