Steven Hartman isn't what some might expect in an art dealer.
He doesn't live and work in trendier places such as New York or Los Angeles. He didn't grow up learning to appreciate the arts and he doesn't have a formal art education.
The owner of The Contessa Gallery is a native Clevelander who grew up watching sports, but from taking the occasional school field trip to a museum, Mr. Hartman eventually discovered that he had an eye for - and a love of - fine art.
