MILAN -- Even after more than 20 years designing shoes, Andrea Pfister is still just as excited as any young, upcoming designer -- even more so now that his company has a new owner.
Pfister's relationship with Calzaturificio Mafra Srl, controlled by Mariella Burani Fashion Group and the LVMH investment fund L Capital, began this fall when the group acquired Pfister's company for $1.7 million from financially troubled Fin.part.
"I'm very happy now and hard at work," Pfister told Footwear News. "The Buranis and management at Mafra have been extremely supportive -- I feel they really believe in me."
