SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Dec. 5 (AScribe Newswire) -- The Board of Trustees of the United States Naval Academy Alumni Association unanimously rejected a proposal today to create a chapter for its gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender graduates. The group - USNA Out -- had filed a petition for official recognition last month, on Veteran's Day.
Jeff Petrie, the elected president of the group, said the decision against recognizing USNA Out was based on the Board's desire to exclude gays and lesbians from establishing a formal alumni chapter. According to the Naval Academy Alumni Association's ...
