Sewer and water officials waged a three-hour war of words Thursday night over the merits of building an Alexandria waste water treatment plant for Sanitation District No. 1.
More than 30 people -- including representatives from various utilities, political and citizen groups -- packed the Alexandria Courthouse for a public hearing conducted by the Kentucky Division of Water.
At issue was the sanitation district's permit application to discharge waste water in Alexandria, approximately 11 miles upstream from the Cincinnati Water Works intake located in California, Ky.
