A number of special events to observe Human Rights Day will take place at United Nations Headquarters in New York on Wednesday, 10 December 2003. Members of the media are invited to attend.
The United Nations Prize in the Field of Human Rights will be awarded at the meeting of the General Assembly from 10 - 11 a.m. in the General Assembly Hall. The awardees will be presented with a commemorative plaque during the award ceremony.
