With its plans for a costly, theme park-style museum at Burke Lakefront Airport scrapped, the Western Reserve Historical Society now envisions a smaller and much less expensive Crawford Museum of Transportation and Industry - most likely downtown, but possibly outside Cuyahoga County.
The new plan, projected to cost $15 million to $20 million, includes a 100,000-square-foot "Crawford campus'' that would encompass a museum and a separate building for storage and renovation of vehicles the auto and aviation museum isn't using, said Patrick Reymann, executive director of the historical society.
