Mesaba Aviation, a subsidiary company of MAIR Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq:MAIR), announced today that it has received a letter from the National Mediation Board (NMB) indicating the start of a 30-day cooling-off period in the airline's contract negotiations with the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA). If the two sides fail to reach an agreement, ALPA could call a strike beginning at 12:01 a.m. EST on Jan. 10, 2004.
