Union pickets Bankruptcy Court over delay in paying off workers
WHITE PLAINS - The U.S. Bankruptcy Court in White Plains was the scene of union picketing last week as former employees of a bankrupt company accused the court of "sitting" on approximately $33,000 in priority wage claims for health, vacation and pension payments due them.
According to union officials, the court has had their case, which is related to the Tomarck Plumbing & Heating Corp. bankruptcy filing, since July 1989, and has failed to distribute the money despite verbal and written assurances that it would do so.
