Marlin Levin's wondrously inclusive and incisive book It Takes a Dream is, appropriately enough, subtitled The Story of Hadassah, but in truth, the scope of this volume far exceeds such a designation. It Takes a Dream is, in fact, the story of modern Zionism, easily on a par with the signature scholarly works of Howard Sachar, Christopher Sykes, and Walter Lacqueur.
