Dec. 11--LOWELL, Mass.--Add another downtown property to the growing list of buildings headed for conversion to market-rate condominiums.
The Historic Board voted unanimously Monday night in favor of a Westwood-based construction company's plan to convert the prominent and mostly vacant Fairburn Building in Kearney Square to 24 condominiums.
"Just the whole idea of making the building look nice is attractive," said Historic Board Chairman Kevin Broderick. "It's such a big building that stares at you in all directions."
