Dec. 11--TAMPA, Fla.--Civitas took its sales pitch to the nation's public housing leaders Wednesday, leaving local housing officials grumbling that they weren't invited.
Ed Turanchik and other Civitas representatives flew to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Washington to discuss their company's plan to replace public housing with an upscale neighborhood north of downtown Tampa.
Civitas needs HUD to sign off on its deal to buy the Tampa Park Apartments and approve a proposal to redevelop Central Park Village.
