WHERE DID THE TIME GO? Can MLS already be on winter break? It seems as if it was just five minutes ago that Soccer DIGEST and every other publication was picking the Los Angeles Galaxy to steamroll through the schedule and have a playoff berth wrapped up by July 4. At the same time, most people seemed to agree that clubs such as the Chicago Fire and the MetroStars would struggle in "rebuiIding" years under new head coaches. (Not us, however--the MetroStars' Tim Howard was out season preview cover star.)
Hmm ... that didn't quite work out as expected, did it? Maybe that's why the eighth MLS season seemed to go by so quickly--nothing made sense. By the time people realized ...
