The Crystal Lake Salvation Army received an early Christmas gift Wednesday, sparked by the theft of thousands of dollars from the organization this week.
Members of the Rotary Club of Crystal Lake Dawnbreakers unanimously voted Wednesday to donate $6,000 to the Crystal Lake group.
"We weren't going to let anybody ruin their Christmas," Rotary Club member Jean Marie Saidler said.
Between $3,000 and $6,000 was stolen Sunday night or Monday morning from the Salvation Army's Crystal Lake headquarters, Crystal Lake police said Tuesday.
