Dec. 15--Hollywood leaders will consider a combination office, housing and shopping complex beside the Sheridan Street Tri-Rail station this week, a project that officials hope will be a sign of things to come.
By putting apartments, shops, offices and even a school all on one site beside the train station, officials hope to create a development where residents can run errands in their own neighborhood, without a car.
The Florida Department of Transportation is trying to encourage similar projects at other Tri-Rail stations -- replacing under-used park-and-ride lots ...
