Dhaka, Dec 15 (UNB) - BRTC chairman Taiumr Alam Khondokar today said the fares of BRTC busses would not be raised despite tremendous pressure from a vested quarter which is out to disrupt its bus services across the country.
"Frequent damage of BRTC buses and obstruction of its services on various routes by the vested quarter are nothing, but acts of sabotage due to its stable service and relatively cheaper fares," he said.
His remarks came against the backdrop of the damage of a BRTC double-decker in a fire on Dhaka-Narayanganj route near Moulana Bhasani stadium at Gulistan Sunday morning.
