DRUG FOR ENLARGED PROSTATE: EARLY TEST RESULTS
Proscar made the news again lately. Although the drug is still undergoing the required FDA testing, it continues to receive enthusiastic advance notice in The Wall Street Journal. Securities analysts are following the tests closely because early experiments indicated that Proscar shrinks the prostate and could become a safer alternative to surgery for men who suffer the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia, or enlarged prostate (see HEALTHFACTS, April 1991).
