Poll shows English closing in on German as most common foreign language in CR
Prague. December 16 INTERFAX EUROPE - The position of the German language will strengthen after the accession of the Czech Republic and other candidate countries to the European Union, according to the daily Lidove noviny (LN).
Polls carried out among people from the candidate countries seeking jobs in Brussels show that more of them speak German than French. A total of 84 % of them speak English. German is second, with 38 % and French comes third with just 4 %.
