The new DGPS-compatible CP1000C from Standard Horizon represents the company's latest generation of chart plotters. Though the unit is packed with features, Standard Horizon has kept its cost reasonable, which should make the CP1000C viable as either a primary or backup unit.
The 8.3-by-6.3-inch color screen has a 640-by-480-pixel resolution, and the user has a choice of seven pages. The unit has two color video inputs. One can serve an optional camera monitoring the engineroom or deck, while the other can serve an optional thru-hull video camera monitoring activity below the surface.
