Exxon Mobil on Wednesday said a unit discovered natural gas in the southern portion of the British North Sea, while a second unit began production in an offshore field near the UK/Dutch border.
The company said the test well, five miles southeast of its Camelot field and 32 miles east of Bacton, England, tested at 65 MMcf/d. The discovery follows the successful test of an exploration well in Block 53/2.
