Economist Sees Sunnier Las Vegas Job Market in 2004.

Dec. 18--Southern Nevada will see employment growth in excess of 4 percent next year, housing permits will drop 9 percent and gaming revenue will improve, but not to peak levels, a local economist is projecting.

"All in all, a good year," Keith Schwer, director of the Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas said Tuesday at his Southern Nevada Economic Outlook, which ended Wednesday.

The UNLV professor gave himself a thumbs-up on all but one of his Southern Nevada economic projections for 2003.
