The Baldwinsville village board voted to accept online auction bids for four of the five fire trucks on sale.
Mayor Andrew Dryden said he was surprised by how much money bidders paid for the equipment.
For instance, he said, one aerial engine with an 85-foot ladder sold for $75,019.35.
The 1979 Sutphen Aerial Tower was only appraised at between $15,000 and $30,000.
The buyer, the East Derry Fire Precinct in New Hampshire, offered $45,000 more than the next closest bidder.
"We would have been happy with $50,000," Dryden said. "We did not expect to get much more than $50,000."
