The movies will still play at the Bedford Playhouse following its sale to a partnership of real estate professionals, who are planning to upgrade the building's 25 market-rate apartments and retain all of its commercial tenants--including a twin-screen Clearview Cinemas theater.
New kitchens, bathrooms and common areas are planned for the residential floors of the five-story Bedford Playhouse building. While the cost has yet to be figured out, the improvements will be in keeping with the site's presence in the Bedford Village historic area, said James J. Houlihan, principal in Houlihan-Parnes/iCap Realty Advisors L.L.C. of White Plains.
