Dec. 17--Christmas spirit appears to be in short supply for shareholders of oil explorer BG Group, the price falling 4 1/2 pence to 274 pence, making it one of the biggest fallers among the top 100 companies.

The fall came in spite of bullish comments by US securities house Lehman Brothers. Word is brokers are being urged to scale down production targets following meetings with the company during the past few days.

Collectively analysts have been forecasting an 8 percent increase in the group's production targets, but one firm of brokers which contacted the Evening Standard ...
