PHILADELPHIA _ Some words return to haunt the speaker. Others turn out to be prophetic.
The words of Cliff Fletcher, the Calgary Flames' general manager in 1988, did both.
When Calgary traded Brett Hull to the St. Louis Blues that March, Fletcher said that the young right winger wasn't a complete player.
"All he can do is score goals," the GM said.
On Dec. 8, Hull became the third-most-prolific goal-scorer in the history of the NHL when he scored in overtime to lift the Detroit Red Wings over the Los Angeles Kings. That goal _ the 732nd of his career _ moved him past Marcel Dionne.
