IF we had any reservations about visiting Gran Canaria it was that we would be kept up all night by hoards of rowdy revellers coming in from the many pubs and clubs the island has become famous for.
In a concerted effort to avoid this kind of holiday from hell we chose to stay in the quiet resort of Puerto de Mogan.
The small fishing village promised limited night-life, an abundance of restaurants, peaceful surroundings and one of the sunniest climes on the island.
It sounded perfect - just what we needed to get away ...
