Prospecting in the do not call era: advisors must learn to market to people in ways other than by phone.(Sales Seminar:)

Personally, I cannot imagine that the national Telemarketing Sales Rule will survive a court challenge. By allowing some "commercial speech" (public opinion and charity solicitation) and disallowing other speech (a rookie broker trying to break into the business), the law certainly seems to this non-lawyer to tear a hole in freedom of speech. Personally, I hope the Supreme Court takes it down hard.

Nevertheless, we as marketers need to listen.

Fifty million people warmed up their vocal cords and screamed, "Don't call us at home." As marketers listening to our customers, it should not matter one iota whether the law stands or not.
