NEW YORK - MTV: Music Television confirmed last week that it will produce three separate feeds of itself, becoming the first basic cable network to officially announce it plans to leap into the age of digital compression.

Unlike HBO's multiplexing - which is really a schedule scramble - MTV plans to create two new, separate music video networks that will feature popular musical genres of 1993, the year the services will launch.
