Dec. 20--LAKELAND, Fla.--More Polk County residents will be able to buy Christmas gifts this season as local employment has improved from last year, the state reported Friday.
Local unemployment declined to 5.3 percent in November, compared with 5.6 percent in November 2002, according to the Agency for Workforce Innovation. There were also 300 more Polk County jobs this November.
