Adrian Neave of stockbrokers Goy Harris Cartwright suggests the income shares of a self-managed trust called Equity Partnership as a solid choice for cautious investors. These shares are ranked fifth out of 35 in the Split Capital: Income Shares sector over one year to 30 November 2002. They have returned 10.4 per cent compared to a sector average of -43.3 per cent over that period.
