Listen up, parsel mouths among you. The sounds that snakes make may be trying to tell you something.
And the message seems to be that snake communication is more complicated than either Harry Potter or scientists have suspected.
For one thing, even some herpetologists (scientists from the Muggle-world equivalent of Slytherin House) have suggested that snakes can't hear very well, if at all, but rather simply sense the vibrations of the ground along their scaly bodies.
