Hollywood Park will run in fancier style under new president
Hollywood Park was churning with activity last week.
The Inglewood race track, subject of a bitter proxy fight a few months back, staged the final race of its 1991 summer season July 22. And the very next day work began on an $11 million capital improvement program, which is slated for completion by the fall season's opening day in November.
Overseeing that major sprucing-up program will be Donald M. Robbins, who last week was promoted to president of Hollywood Park Operating Co., which runs the track.
