HyperIP is a Linux software application that quantifiably and measurably enhances large data movement over big bandwidth and long-haul IP networks. HyperIP is a working example of RFC3135. RFC3135 describes techniques used to mitigate TCP performance problems over long-distance wide-area networks. These techniques are called "TCP Performance Enhancing Proxies" (PEP).
