Rivalry games often have a dynamic of their own, producing games a lot closer than would be expected under normal circumstances.

That wasn't the case Friday night, as Granada Hills High rolled past cross- town rival Kennedy 27-0 in a nonleague game in front of about 3,000 at John Elway Field.

Granada Hills (4-1) is 17-12-1 against Kennedy since the two teams began playing for the Granada Hills Chamber of Commerce Trophy in 1974.

Kennedy (0-5) lost its 16th consecutive game going back to 2001.
