PROJECT OVERVIEW:
A contract to build a steam cracker that was initially awarded to a French/Iranian joint venture in March 2003 has finally come into force. The partners in the planned undertaking include France-based TECHNIP-COFLEXIP and the local NARGAN.
According to the terms of the award, the partnership will be responsible for building a plant with an installed production capacity of 500,000 tons per year. In so doing, TECHNIP will provide its in-house ethylene technology together with its proprietary furnaces as well as basic and detail engineering, equipment and supervision of construction as well as commissioning services.
