2004 JAN 5 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Ikaros proteins have been identified in species of hagfish and urochordate, shedding new light on the evolutionary development of these hematopoietic factors.
According to recent research from the United States, "The Ikaros multigene family encodes a number of zinc finger transcription factors that play key roles in vertebrate hemopoietic stem-cell differentiation and the generation of B-, T-, and NK-cell lineages."
