Dec. 27--Some of the Grand Strand's snowbirds will pack more of a punch this winter at restaurants, stores and attractions with the help of the loonie.
The Canadian dollar, nicknamed the loonie, has rebounded in recent months to give snowbirds their best exchange rate in years. For some, that means fewer sandwiches in their hotel rooms and more dinners out. Not to mention more shopping, sight-seeing and golf.
