ROBERT M. COUCH, CMB, THE MORTGAGE Bankers Association's (MBA's) chairman for the 2003-2004 term, led a panel of speakers during a Residential Town Hall meeting at the start of MBA's 90th Annual Convention & Expo in San Diego. Addressing the spread of predatory lending laws in states nationwide, Couch expressed concern that "the effect of this well-intended legislation ... will have the unintended consequence of turning off access to credit to the groups that need it the most."
