Three Colorado companies are among the 62 targets of a federal crackdown on herbal weight-loss supplement ephedra. Problem is, two say they no longer sell the ingredient in dispute.
The Food and Drug Administration sent warning letters to Golden- based EAS, AST Sports Science and Westminister-based SlimSense. All three market weight-loss supplements.
AST had an ephedra-containing product, Dymetadrine Xtreme, for sale on its Web site Tuesday. The other two companies say they are out of the ephedra business.
