More than one-half of Americans (54%) have tried organic foods, with nearly 29% claiming to consume more organic foods and beverages than one year ago, according to the 2003 Whole Foods Market Organic Foods Trend Tracker, an annual survey commissioned by Whole Foods Market and conducted by Synovate in August 2003. Furthermore, Americans are expanding their purchases beyond traditional gateways to organic foods such as produce and dairy.
