Biscuits and Other Bakery Products
At the time of partition there was only one biscuit factory namely Yaqoob Biscuit Factory which was originally set up as Mangarem Biscuit Factory. This factory was relatively a small plant. The industry made rapid progress over the years and imports of biscuits has been banned for the last many years. Exports have started picking up and the quality of biscuits could be matched to any product available in the international market. This industry covers manufacture of all kinds of biscuits, crackers, pretzels, breads, buns, cakes, cookies, doughnuts, pies and pastries.
