Brazil and Argentina are entering an agreement concerning the erection of a hydroelectric plant, a gas pipeline between Argentina and Porto Alegre (Rio Grande do Sul state), besides aiming the swap of the energy in excess through two existing transmission lines. According to the Brazilian Minister of Mines and Energy, Dilma Rousseff, the plant, known as Garabi, would have a capacity of between 1,200 and 1,800 MW.
