FOR MICHELLE NEWMAN BERney, the writing is on the wall--but she's squinting to see it. A project director for a New York City nonprofit social-services agency, she frequently gives marathon PowerPoint presentations to senior-citizen volunteers. Problem is, her agency's digital projector hasn't aged as gracefully as they have.
"It hums loudly and is horribly out of focus," Berney says. "That's not good, considering my volunteers are older adults, some with hearing and vision problems."
