Nov. 10--When you drive over the Sacramento or Colorado rivers, a bridge sign tells you what water landmark you just crossed.
When you drive or amble over a hometown creek, it is likely an anonymous waterway.
No sign. No identity. No respect.
Contra Costa County hopes to turn that around by posting hundreds of creek identification signs to build support for restoring the waterways to healthier, cleaner and more scenic environments.
County officials say they know of no other countywide program in California to post creek signs on ...
