A new law requiring a lifetime license revocation after a third conviction for drunk driving will bring a storm of court action and confusion, criminal defense lawyers predict.
Anti-drunk driving groups say the revocation law - one of seven new drunk driving laws go into effect on Jan. 1 - is needed, and legal challenges are to be expected with new laws.
"The question is how many chances do we give people once they've been put on notice that they have a drinking problem and they continue to drink and drive? I think three is plenty," said Steve Doell, director of the state lobbying group Crime Victims ...
