Shopping centres could be improved by adopting some of the leisure industry's planning, design and operational approaches.
This was the theme of a presentation by Karl Kalcher, the managing director of marketing and innovation consultancy MindFolio, at the British Council for Shopping Centres' recent centre management conference held at the MICC in Manchester.
Kalcher said the shopping centre industry was starting to realise that it could learn from theme parks and resorts.
