For the second time in nine months, Westchester Medical Center is preparing to cut costs by laying off employees, while claiming early successes in its efforts to reduce expenses and generate new revenues.
Just how many jobs will go this time, the medical center will not say, though it's not dampening speculation that more than 200 employees will be idled The Valhalla hospital will disclose the number later this month when it concludes face to face with affected workers that began last week, senior executive vice president Marilyn Slaatten said.
